![]() The mission of Santa MoniCARES is to harness the hospitable nature and generosity of Santa Monica’s tourism industry to provide support to our local nonprofit agencies. ![]() ![]() ![]() Santa MoniCARES is a coalition of representatives from Santa Monica Travel & Tourism and community partners. The partnership of residents and community stakeholders includes City of Santa Monica, Downtown Santa Monica, Inc., Main Street Business Improvement District, Montana Avenue Merchants Association, Pico Improvement District, Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Santa Monica Pier Corporation, Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, and 18 th Street Arts Center. Santa Monica Shines is a communications and outreach effort focused on accelerating a safe and healthy economic recovery and return to business. “The Santa MoniCARES foundation was created to support these types of community efforts and we hope that everyone pitches in and socially shares their passion to make Santa Monica Shine.” They are the fabric of the city and represent what’s best of our beach community,” said Misti Kerns, President/CEO of Santa Monica Travel & Tourism. “As we move further into the reopening and recovery phase it’s important to take care of the safety and welfare of our eight different neighborhoods too. When visiting Santa Monica, please remember to wear a face mask, practice social distancing, and follow all LA County health and safety requirements. Santa Monica remains committed to the health and wellness of the community and is taking extra precautions to ensure the community feels welcome and safe. Santa Monica Shines is the community-partnered outreach effort for Santa Monica’s economic recovery that provides resources to businesses, employees, and residents throughout the city at and /economicrecovery. “We hope residents will lean into the spirit of Earth Day by joining in this community-wide effort to care for our treasured outdoor spaces that have been so essential to our lives in the pandemic.” “The Santa Monica Shines ‘Clean Campaign’ is a fun and proactive way to participate in a clean and safe Santa Monica and promotes a sense of pride in our vibrant neighborhoods that make Santa Monica such a special place to live,” said Lane Dilg, Interim City Manager, City of Santa Monica. This includes alley street signs to Break Down Your Boxes and remind residents of Free Bulky Item Pick Ups A Frame signs to Pack Up Your Trash Beach Trashcan stickers to Put Trash and Recycling In Bins and three different Trash Truck ads with messages for Put Trash and Recycling In Bins, Break Down Your Boxes, and Free Bulky Item Pick Ups. The Santa Monica Shines “Clean Campaign” features educational signage and advertisements with tips and best practices for recycling. Locations available here >Īlso beginning on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22 through Tuesday, June 1, residents can take a picture of themselves or their group while they’re out cleaning and post it on their social media channels along with using #WeAreSantaMonica and #SantaMoniCARES for a chance to win a $100 gift card to a Santa Monica business. Residents can pick up a free cleanup kit at any of the six convenient Santa Monica locations to pick-up trash around their neighborhood. After the clean up is done, residents can dispose of their items collected into the appropriate receptacle, wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water, and sanitize all gear used including personal objects, such as a mobile phone. SANTA MONICA, Calif., (April 16, 2021) – Residents and visitors are urged to help Santa Monica Shine leading up to Earth Day and beyond by joining the “Santa Monica Shines Clean Campaign” for spring with a comprehensive community clean up drive now through August 31.
